THE AMERICAN RALLY ASSOCIATION TO DEBUT SIDE-BY-SIDE RACING AT STPR JUNE 1-2, 2018

Speedway, Indiana (May 23, 2018)

Officials with the American Rally Association (ARA) are pleased to announce they will be debuting side-by-side (UTV) competition at the upcoming Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (STPR) in Wellsboro, PA June 1-2, 2018.

Supporting ARA with the launch of side-by-side racing at STPR will be Textron Off Road, based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Founded in 2003, the company first started operations under the name Bad Boy Buggies. In 2010 the company became part of Textron, Inc. - a Fortune 500 company known worldwide for its powerful brands that serve the nation’s military and its boldest adventures. In 2017, Arctic Cat’s renowned lines of ATV’s and side-by-sides joined Textron and the company was renamed Textron Off Road.

“We’re honored to have a world-class company such as Textron Off Road join the ARA for our inaugural effort of bringing side-by-side racing to stage rally”, stated Paul Giblin, National Brand Manager for ARA. “We’re also pleased to have side-by-side racing debut at the Susquehannok Trail Performance Rally. The stages organizers have chosen to showcase the side-by-sides are not only ideal for the competitors, they’re perfect for spectators as well!”

ARA will feature two side-by-side classes of competition at STPR, Pro Stock and Pro Modified. Included in the mix of stages the side-by-sides will be competing on will be the very popular Waste Management Stage - known for its big-air jump, as well as the Tioga County Fair Grounds Super Special. Both locations are easy to access and are extremely popular with spectators.

In addition to STPR, Rally Idaho International, which takes place just outside of Boise, Idaho September 15-16, 2018, and the Tour de Forest Rally, which will be based in Shelton, Washington October 6-7, 2018, will also be hosting side-by-side racing for ARA this year.
