Walker, MN (March 19, 2018)
Officials with the American Rally Association (ARA) are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2018 Headwaters Rally. Based at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker, Minnesota, Headwaters Rally takes place on Saturday, April 28 with Recce taking place for teams the day before on Friday, April 27.
An ARA regional event and the opening round of the 2018 ARA Central Regional Championship, Headwaters will feature 70 stage miles through the same Minnesota forests used in the Muscatell Ojibwe Forests Rally (OFR). Named for the Headwaters of the Mississippi River in nearby Itasca State Park, Headwaters Rally is a local favorite with Stage Rally enthusiasts. Mixing sections of stage roads from OFR with other access roads, Headwaters Rally offers a unique layout that challenges drivers and co-drivers alike with its combination of tight turns, sweeping corners, and fast straights.
With registration now open, a discounted entry fee of $390.00 per team is available to teams entering before April 1, 2018. Starting April 2, 2018, entry fees will increase to $490.00 per team. The field will be limited to a maximum of 30 teams for this event. Rally organizers are also offering special rebates for a large entry field. If more than 20 cars enter, competitor's will receive an additional $50 discount on their entry fee. With 25 cars entered, the discount sees a 50% increase to $75. If Headquarters Rally reaches its maximum number of 30 entries, a $90 discount will be available to all competitors.
